Burn: When your character has a burn, it hurts them to move that body part or to have anything touch that body part. However, you will not continuously take damage, although you will take more damage if your opponent hits you in your burned spot. Fire types cannot be burned, Grass types are easily burned, and Water types are far more unlikely to get burned. You're physical strength is slightly diminished; especially if the attack involves the burned body part.
Paralysis: This works just like in the regular game. Except that whenever you try to move, there is a 30% chance that you will be unable to move at all. The same goes for dodging. You will also move a bit slower than you normally do. Electric pokemon cannot be paralyzed by electric attacks. But they can be paralyzed by moves such as Force Palm and Body Slam.
Poison: As your character is poisoned, you start losing strength. You can feel your strength ebbing away slowly, and you take slow, steady damage. Eventually, unless it is cured by an item or move, you will become weak, but it will die out on its own eventually. Poison and Steel types cannot be poisoned.
Badly Poisoned: If you are badly poisoned, the effects are more dramatic. You will take more damage at a time, and it will never die off on its own. It must be cured or else you will eventually lose consciousness. Same rules apply otherwise for this as Poison.
Sleep: If you fall asleep, you are naturally unable to move, and your mod will have your opponent do whatever they want to you while you are asleep. However, every time you are hit, your chances of waking up get more and more likely. But odd are that if you fall asleep, you will take serious damage, or your opponent will escape. If you put your opponent to sleep, you may make a single action, and let your mod decide whether they wake up or not. If they are still asleep, then you may take another action. Items cannot be used (such as a Chesto Berry) by the sleeping pokemon, but a nearby pokemon can force the item's use on the sleeping.
Freeze: When you are frozen, you are encased in ice and cannot move at all. However, the ice will eventuall thaw out. How quickly depends on your location. If you are in a snowing or hailing region, you will not thaw out at all (unless you are a Fire type). But the ice around you can eventually be shattered by an opponent's attack, or by an assistance from another. Fire type moves will instantly thaw out the ice. Fire type pokemon are much less likely to be frozen, and Water pokemon are much more likely to be frozen, as are Flying types. Ice types can also be frozen.
Confusion: The confused pokemon becomes dizzy, severely reducing his ability to hit the opponent. In Confusion, the pokemon may hurt itself by attacking inanimate objects, mistaking it for the opponent.
Infatuation: An infatuated pokemon falls in love with the opponent. The pokemon finds it difficult to attack the opponent that he is in love with. The possibility of a successful attack is dropped to 50%. This is permanent until either the infatuated pokemon or the opponent is defeated. However, there are items that can cure infatuation. Infatuation only works on pokemon of the opposite gender.
Seeded: A Status problem that only comes from the move Leech Seed. The afflicted pokemon is constricted with vines that slowly drain its strength and gives it to the opponent. It will stop if the afflicted pokemon can somehow escape the vines. The inflicted pokemon can still move as usual, and its stats are unchanged. The pokemon will simply continue to take damage. Pokemon with the Blaze ability can break out more easily as he takes more damage. A pokemon with the Fire Body ability cannot be seeded.
Injured: A status problem original to Cotrin Vortexes. An injured pokemon is just that. This can be anything from a serious cut to broken bones. The mod will be the judge of whether or not your pokemon is Injured. Being Injured will remain unless healed using an item or over time or with proper treatment. Ghost types cannot be Injured, and Steel, Poison and Rock types are less likely to be Injured.
Shrouded: Another status problem original to Cotrin Vortexes. The afflicted Pokemon cannot see a thing and accuracy drops to a bare minimum. This can be afflicted by moves such as Smokescreen, but there are other ways a pokemon can become Shrouded. Dark type Pokemon cannot become shrouded. Flying types are less likely to become Shrouded from most moves and items.
